Service: Launch and Build High Performance Teams
The Teams by Design process utilizes proven approaches to team development and applies them to new teams, intact teams, work groups, management teams or entire departments. PDA programs are custom designed to address your team-specific issues including developing the individual skills needed to be effective team members. Service Highlight # 1 An aircraft engin parts repair facility had successfully shifted to self-managed teams and had done well for several years. Their success led to the facility doubling in size and the influx of a large number of new employees who had little experience in teaming. Quality and efficiency began to deteriorate along with the organization's team spirit. PDA partners working with a representative group of employees redesigned the teams and work processes for the expanded organization. The newly configured teams were then individually launched with team charters and working norms that they devised. Visual systems to monitor the effectiveness of each team were put in place so that everyone could see their results on a weekly basis. Results: a reinvigorated team organization restored high quality and efficiency to pre-expansion levels. Service Highlight #2 A manufacturer in the office supply business needed to re-configure their business fast. They saw an opportunity to seize some market share if they could work across organizational lines. PDA worked to help the organization assemble teams and change the scope of their work. Through a series of Virtual Team Training workshops, the company was able to mobilize and shift a large piece of their business across the entire continent. Each team was able to decide for itself how it wanted to form and work together to achieve the objectives leadership set out for it. The initiative was considered a success because employee commitment entered the picture on day one. The usual employee resistance to prior efforts transformed into fresh ideas with the help of PDA'a robust processes. Service Highlight #3 These are the comments some of our clients are expressing. "Business is moving too fast to get input from the key people in the organization in order to make decisions. We have some really difficult issues our organization is facing and we find that we don't have time to explore the issues as well as we need to. We need to find a more powerful way to collaborate effectively in half the time." One of our clients came to us because their leadership team needed to be able to come to agreement quickly about the direction the organization would be heading and resolving conflicts that have existed for many years among the team. PDA worked with this leadership team on two levels. One, we helped to bring the organization together to resolve the necessary issues and gain agreement and alignment toward their future. Two, we worked with them on shifting their collaboration skills from simple problem solving to generating organizational value through all of their meetings and conversations. Through this shift the team was able to work together more effectively in the present and learned skills that will support team efforts in the future. The combination of working with the group's present issues while teaching collaborative technologies helped to make sustainable change. |

Workshop Refund Policy: The full cost less a $50 administrative fee will be refunded for cancellations received up to five days in advance of the workshop. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than five days before the workshop. |
