Pratt & Whitney Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) Convening Issues: The EH&S department of Pratt & Whitney was to be reorganized from a matris managed deployed organization to a shared service. The team struggled with how to implement ushc a sweeping change in a short time frame and how to gain the support for the new structure from their internal clients. What We Did: Leadership Alignment: PDA worked with the Leadership Team to define the vision of the new organization and the strategy to implement the change. This included defining the business case for change, the critical success factors, and an acceptable timeline for the change. Organization Design: PDA facilitated a series of meetings to finalize the organizational structure and processes of the new shared service operation. This included a series of "war games" to test how the new organization would function in response to typical business cases and assure that the expected efficiencies would be realized. Strategy Deployment: PDA partners worked with a core team to plan a deployment process that included a large group kickoff meeting followed by 30, 60, 90 day checkpoint meetings to review progress on implementation. Results: The reorganization was designed and implemented in six months. |
